Dr Jay V. Patel, MD
Dr. Jay Patel is a veteran urologist treating all general urology including kidney stones, bladder, kidney and prostate cancers, vasectomies, female incontinence and enlarged prostate. For prostate cancer patients the surgical option can be open or laparoscopic radical prostatectomy using the DaVinci robot. Dr. Patel has office locations at St. John’s Mercy and St. Anthony’s Medical Center to accommodate the needs of patients in West and South County.
Dr. Jay Patel, MD received his B.S. at Northern Illinois University. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Southern Illinois University, School of Medicine. After graduating medical school, Dr Patel completed his residency at the University of Missouri in general surgery and Urology. His fellowship was earned through the University of Tennessee in Oncology and Urology.
Dr. Patel is a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Urological Society, and American Medical Association, Missouri State Medical Society and St. Louis Urological Society. In addition, Dr. Patel received recognition for his roll as Vice Chairman, Missouri Resident in Physician Society Receiving honors in the Illinois State Legislators Scholarship, Dean’s List and lastly Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society. Dr. Patel has extensive study research which includes the Study of Palliative Treatment of pain due to Metastatic Bone Disease from prostate cancer, Finasteride Effects of Post-radical prostatectomy patients, and the effects of BHCG on infertile males.
